a5c.ai. Agent operations, enforced.
We build and operate multiple AI-agent solutions, for security, growth, health, AI engineering, science, and domains beyond them. Elements of the stack are open source.
01What an engagement buys
You keep a calibrated solution you can re-run.
a5c.ai builds and operates AI-agent solutions with your team, plus custom calibrated harnesses. Custom harnesses are operational with clients today across multiple domains.
An engagement leaves you a calibrated harness, your evals, and a replayable record of how the work runs under enforcement: yours to keep and re-run. It begins with a 30-minute intro call, free.
02The argument
Why a5c exists.
The name first: a5c is a numeronym for agentic: a, five letters, c.
We started more than four years ago, arguing for agents before most people saw why they were needed. The answer we kept hearing was some version of the same sentence: “now that GPT-3 is here, everything is solved.” It was not. The models kept getting better; the machinery that decides whether work actually finished mostly did not.
That machinery is what we build. We bring frontier technology and a deep understanding of both the AI and the business it has to serve. The two pillars underneath, enforced process and deterministic memory, exist because a promise is not the same as proof.
We also hold a thesis about where software is going: as the cost of building software falls, the advantage moves to custom solutions, built fast from technology that already exists and operated well. a5c is built for that.
03The operating model
How we operate.
a5c.ai sells operated solutions: packaged domains and custom harnesses, run as a service on our own stack, with your team, from the first week.
The model is co-creation. We bring the AI and the know-how of operating it; you bring the deeper understanding of how your teams work: the workflows, the priorities, the shape of a good outcome. Together we build a sophisticated, calibrated harness fit to each department’s needs. Not all harnesses are made equal.
The work does not bill out by the hour and evaporate. Each engagement compounds into process definitions, evals, and memory: the same artifacts the next run is enforced against.
We also run everything we ship on ourselves first (dogfooding).
04Your moat
The record compounds.
What an engagement builds up belongs to you: your evals, your calibrated harness, your replayable record of how work actually gets done under enforcement:
Iteration counts per task type
Your team's feedback at breakpoints
Failure and success patterns from your runs
Cost per outcome
Process definitions that survived contact with your real work
Every run adds to this record, and the record stays yours. Every month of enforced runs is calibration you do not have to buy back later.
Test it yourself
The public components are free and MIT. Install Babysitter, run a process, read the journal it writes. Check our claims before you ever talk to us.
What an engagement buys
The calibrated process record: evals, gates, and iteration history already proven in operation, so your first run starts where our last one ended. The intro call is 30 minutes and free; engagements are scoped to the domain.
05The first customer
We run on our own harness.
The company runs on the stack it ships. Our releases, launch documentation, and long-form writing run as enforced processes, with quality gates and human approval at breakpoints. When a gate is wrong, we feel it before you do.
a release run hits its claims gate
task.completedtask.completed draft-release-notes: output recorded in the journal
gate.checkedgate.checked claims-sourced: one claim without a source found
gate.refusedgate.refused progression blocked; revise task dispatched
task.completedtask.completed revise-notes: claim sourced, or cut
breakpoint.holdingbreakpoint.holding awaiting human approval before publish
None of this asks to be taken on trust. Some of the stack is MIT-licensed and public, and so is the eval instrument, obedience-benchmark. Inspect, then decide.
